15th December

Today at the last Championship Show of the year Calvdale Night Court won his class to be declared Best Puppy Dog with Calvdale Diamond Heist taking a second in her class. The judge was Breed Specialist Angela Pidcock.

24th November

Today at Houghton le Spring Canine Society, Angela led Thorn, Calvdale Night Court to another excellent days results. In the breed after winnig his class he was awarded Best of Breed, Best Puppy in Breed, followed by Group 2 in the adult group and Group 1 in the puppy group under judge Nicola Spencer (Bannobrig). Later under Mrs Angie Allan (Allmark) we were delighted when he was awarded Best Puppy in Show.

17th November

At the North of England Spaniel Club Open Show at Hurworth our homebred Calvdale Night Court was declared Best Puppy in Breed by Dr Barbara Scorgie (Ardtella). He then went on to take part in Best Puppy in Show under judge Miss J Cunningham (Elvandar) and she declared him Best Puppy in Show. Handled by Angela it was a team affair again today.

Calvdale Zero to Hero was also shown in the breed class and from Junior he was declared Best of Breed.

A very pleasant day.

10th November

At Northallerton C.S. Open Show held at Hurworth. Calvdale Material Witness was BOB under Mr Derek Taylor (Olyjen) with Calvdale Night Court being awarded Best Puppy in Breed and Puppy Group 2 under the same judge.

The WSS Chanangel Sticky Wicket JW ShCM under the guiding hand of daughter Angela was BOB and then awarded Group 3 also under Mr Derek Taylor (Olygen).

3rd November

Today at the Midland ESS Society Championship show under breed specialist judge Ray Smith (Melverly). Calvdale Night Court won Minor Puppy Dog, Puppy Dog and Novice Dog, later being awarded Best Puppy in Show. Calvdale Zero to Hero was first in Junior Dog, whilst Calvdale Great Escape JW ShCM took a third in a hotly contested Limit Class, as did Calvdale Hearsay in the corresponding bitch class

20th October

Yorkshire Gundog today at Cleckheaton. Mr R Bott (Allenie) judging ESS. Calvdale Night Court was the winner of ESS Puppy and declared BPIB, Calvdale Zero to Hero won ESS Junior and Calvdale Great Escape JW Sh CM was the winner of ESS Open and awarded BOB. Great Escape later went on to Reserve Best in Show under Lyn Anderson (Lincheal).

Elizabeth Chandler was 1st in Junior Handling 6-11 year, qualifying for Richmond. She was handling a Cocker Spaniel today which had kindly been loaned to her by Tamara Babester.

16th October

Despite the dismal weather today at Gundog Society of Wales the results under Patsy Hollings (Gunalt) certainly brightened our spirits.

Calvdale Night Court won Minor Puppy, Novice and added another Best Puppy in Breed to his tally. He then delighted us being awarded Puppy Group Four under Sandra Marshall, showing off his bomb proof temperament when meeting with a mobility scooter in the ring.

Calvdale Zero to Hero was placed first in a nice Junior class, with Calvdale Great Escape being placed third in a strong Limit class. We were thrilled when in the challenge Calvdale Zero to Hero was awarded the Reserve CC.

Calvdale Hearsay was second in Limit behind the CC winner and eventual best of breed.

....and it all happened in Ring 13 for the Superstitious!

13th October

At Northern Counties Gundog, Calvdale Hearsay JW won ESS Open and Best of Breed under the breed judge Mr R Adams (Whinburn). She then went on to gain Best in Show under the BIS judge Mr J R Roberts (Mirkwood).

Calvdale Night Court won ESS Post Graduate gaining a JW point on the way, and was declared Best Puppy in Breed and later BPIS4 handled by daughter Angela.

A lovely day to finish off the busy weekend.

11th October

Thanks to our judge Chris Savell (Petranella) for appreciating our team at South Wales Kennel Association. Calvdale Night Court wins Minor Puppy Dog, Puppy Dog and Best Puppy Dog. Calvdale Zero to Hero won a nice Junior Dog Class. Calvdale Great Escape was 2nd in a strong Limit Dog Class and finally Calvdale Hearsay won Limit Bitch.

Not a bad days work albeit an incredibly long drive.

5th October

F A B U L O U S day at Belfast Championship Show on Saturday 28th, which also happened to be our 39th wedding anniversary. A ‘card’ of quite a different type was delivered into my hand by way of the Dog Challenge Certificate – Calvdale Great Escape being awarded his 2nd CC by Frank Whyte (Kazval). It didn’t stop there. Calvdale Night Court won Puppy Dog and was awarded the Reserve CC (at only 7 months of age) as well as Best Puppy in Breed also under Frank Whyte and then he was Puppy Group 4 under Colm Beattie. Quite a father and son combination. Calvdale Zero to Hero won a nice Junior Dog class so all three boys done good!

19th September

Calvdale Hearsay wins Limit bitch and RCC under Breed Specialist Ken Green’ Kenair’ at Darlington Championship Show. This adds to her CC won earlier in the year. Young ‘gun’ Calvdale Night Court takes Best Puppy in Breed from Minor Puppy Dog.

12th September

Due to prior commitments I was unable to return to Wolsingham Show so that young Calvdale Night Court (Thorn) could compete for BPIS following his Group win on Saturday. Not to worry. Angela stepped in and handled him for the first time in his extremely short show career of three shows and yahoo she finished Best Puppy In Show overall under judge Sue Pollock-Yule. Well done you lovely black and white boy and a big thank you to all the judges who thought so highly of this young man and also to Angela for stepping in at the eleventh hour so he was able to take part.

5th August

Ryedale & Pickering Lyth Agr. Show. Calvdale Zero to Hero 1st in Junior and BPIB. Calvdale Great Escape 1st Open and BOB and then Reserve Best In Show under Ainslie Carius from Australia.

27th July, a lovely day at Cleveland County Show. Calvdale Zero to Hero BPIB and PG2 and Calvdale Eternal Law BOB and G2 under Mr Roger Taylor.

10th July

Sat 6th July, at Goosenargh and Longridge Agricultural Show Calvdale Hearsay was BOB and G3 under Marion Waddell. Calvdale Zero to Hero was BPIB and PG1 under same judge and then went on to RBPIS under Frank Whyte (Kazval).

25th June

Border Union, Sat 15th June. Judge, Graham Osborne. BCC, Calvdale Hearsay. RBCC, Sh Ch Calvdale My Girl of Fallenleaf. RDCC, Calvdale Great Escape, BPIB, Calvdale Zero To Hero.

Tuesday 4th June

North Riding Gundog Open Show under Breed Judge Karl Payne Calvdale Material Witness was BOB and then Group 4 under Fiona Thurm. BPIB also under the same judge was Calvdale Zero to Hero. He was also Puppy Group 4.

Tuesday 7th May

At ESSC of Scotland our baby boy Woody (Calvdale Zero to Hero) took a second placing. This being only his second show we were just delighted he enjoyed himself. There is always tomorrow. Meanwhile his slightly older kennel mate Calvdale Great Escape took the Challenge Certificate and Best in Show at 15 months-Woo hoo. Huge thanks to John Thirlwell for thinking so highly of Rob. Calvdale Hearsay took a second in Yearling bitch and was outdone by litter sister Calvdale Material Witness who stood first in Junior bitch. Calvdale Diamond Heist JW Sh CM was third in Limit bitch which turned out to be the class from which the bitch CC winner came in the form of Trimere Touch of Black taking her 2nd CC. She is sired by our Calvdale Blak to The Future.

Wednesday 24th April

Sunderland CS Open Show. Calvdale Zero to Hero BPIB under Kay Cook. Puppy Group 1 Mr Frank Gilroy. His first show so we are delighted.
Calvdale Swag for Elbrec BOB. Feldkirk Angelica With Chanangel (Flatcoat Retriever) BOB and Group 2.

Thursday 28th March

Saltburn & D C Society on Sunday 24th March Calvdale Diamond Heist JW Sh CM won BOB and G1 under replacement judge Ruth Martin (Sunhouse).

Sunday 17th March

Sh Ch Calvdale Softly Softly JW wins Veteran Dog class for the fourth consecutive year and now retires. Calvdale Hearsay wins a lovely Yearling bitch class and her sister Calvdale Material Witness takes a second in Junior bitch. Calvdale Diamond Heist JW Sh CM 2nd in Limit Bitch. Others of our breeding did well too and we congratulate them, Lovely to see many of our friends from around the world but such a busy day for dogs and owners.

Saturday 26th Janaury - Northern Dog Club under Mrs C Flynn C. Great Escape went BOB and then under Mrs Grimmett he was G3 and then Puppy Group 2.
